She signed up for a Weight Watchers program and followed it faithfully for the next few years.

Each week, she would do an entirely different set of exercises. She alternated them so that she would have a new and interesting experience every time. This gave her a sense of variety, allowing her to keep her bodypositivity going no matter what fitness routine she was in. Even as she added exercise machines and other new things to her workout routines, she found the Wind Resistance Training program was still one of the most beneficial parts of her weight-loss strategy.

Graham found that a gym is not necessary to maintain a solid and effective weight-loss workout plan. In fact, going to the gym several times a week and spending time on the equipment actually created unnecessary strain on her body. She could spend less time in the gym and more time working out in her own home. That is exactly what she did, and it worked!

For instance, when you go to the gym to work out, you wear the same clothes every time. Then you head back home and put on a new outfit. Your body positivity is focused on that one pair of shorts and that one T-shirt. It means you are more likely to reach for that hamburger on your way out the door or that chocolate cake at the end of your run. It's true that exercise is important to losing weight. You need to eat right and get some sort of daily exercise. But if you only do half of the plan, your body will remain in the same tired and ineffective state for long periods of time. You want to lose weight and you want your body positivity to stay high. So you need to do more than just exercise, even if that means getting up from your computer and joining a gym for a quick workout.

The photo shoot with famous photographer Terry Richardson convinced Ashley Graham that she should use the Instagram and Facebook platform to help her achieve her weight loss goals. But it was really the confidence boost that got her off the couch and onto her feet. She knew that when people saw the real you - the person beneath the Hollywood makeup - they would be much more inspired to lose weight and improve their body image. Her Instagram account became a veritable who's who of celebrities, including her own mother, music artist Patti LaBelle, and fashion guru Suze Anneka.

You can do the same thing. Make small efforts that build momentum that will lead to big changes. Get on the social media bandwagon and see what else can be done. If Ashley Graham can do it, so can you.
